Handmade Christmas Pledge Update - Flowers on Madeit - Blogtoberfest Day 31

This week Michelle from Michelle's Art and Photography listed one of her beautiful rose drawings. I was lucky enough to be able to get one of Michelle's beautiful drawings back in May for my grandmother, so I was quick to snap up this one for myself for Christmas.

Isn't it beautiful.

So this weeks Madeit post is all things found using the search word "Flower"

Michelle also has this beautiful trio, I was so tempted by this also.

This is just stunning, I just wish I could wear something like this.

These are on my wish list this Christmas.

I like both this colour and the non-colour flower versions of this print, it would be so hard to pick.

How pretty is this mobile.

If you would love to read an interview with Michelle from Michelle's Art and Photography check out this Artist's We Love post.

I cant believe that tomorrow is the last day of blogtoberfest, I cant believe that I have blogged every day (Well I was late two days but only by about 2 hours). It's been great.

Handmade Christmas Pledge Update - Prints - Blogtoberfest Day 29

I think that a print can be a wonderful present. Over the last couple of years I have been building up my collection of art and often put different prints on my wish lists for Christmas and Birthdays. A lot of my collection is around my desk which I spend so much time at and it brings me such joy and inspiration.

BTW this post is a little longer than normal but I just couldn't make it any shorter, I love them all.

I love the the blue gumboots in this print and the placement of the feet is just so cute.

I fell in love with this print as soon as I saw it, I love the deep blue of the dress and the porcelain skin.

The woven texture of the hair and little bird are so beautiful.

I love the combination of the Pink with the green of this print. It's just so pretty.

I love the light colours and the hand drawn lines of this bird.

What a great idea this print is and I love the retro look.

Dion has already requested this print for Christmas (It's the closest that he will come to camping with me, lol).

This print just makes me smile. How cute.

If you are thinking of buying someone a print for Christmas but are worried about finding the right frame, I use the Frame Shop you can have custom frames made online. I have nothing to do with the Frame Shop I have just used them a number of times and have always found their service fantastic, postage not expensive and always fast.

And a tip that I learnt a while back, you can have lots of different types of art but if you frame them in the same colour frame (it does not need to be the same size or frame style) they will all tie together. When framing my artwork I chose to frame them in white frames. It also means that I can move it around from room  to room and it always works well with what is already there.

I cant believe we only have just over 8 weeks till that  day arrives. I thought that this would be a good time to do a post on advent calendars. For a couple of yours now I have wanted a beautiful handmade one, so this year I have taken the plunge and started making one. While I was doing some research on what type of advent calendar I wanted to make a came across so many beautiful and wonderful tutorials that I just had to share them with you.

I love this idea of getting little crafty goodies every day.
From the Purl Bee

What a great idea for the non sewers, and for us that want something a little different.
From Sunny Stampin

I love the bright colours of these cones.
From Pickles

How great would these look hanging across the mantle.
From Martha Stewart Crafts

Another one that would look great hanging on the mantle.
From All Sorts

This is a great one for the kids.
From One Hour Craft

There are just so many out there that are just so great.

Handmade Christmas Pledge Update - Doilies - Blogtoberfest Day 22

Lets face it who doesn't love a doily, I'm just a little bit obsessed. Here are some of my favourites.

What beautiful colours, I would love to hang some of these over my desk. So pretty.

I love how the doily stands out against the gray background on this clock.

I'm not one for using coasters but these are just so beautiful.

This hand stitched beetle on this doily is just amazing.

I have a doily snowflake from Wanna Be that hangs on my desk all year round its so pretty.

Are you a planner....... - Blogtoberfest Day 18

Are you a planner? I am sometimes but at others I don't even get around to planning I just jump straight in. But it's never as good when I don't plan. When I signed up for Blogtoberfest I was more than a little worried that I wouldn't find something to blog about for each of the 31 days. I mean it's 31 days, 31 posts, I had only done 80 post on my blog up until that point. Kellie over at 74 Lime Lane had a wonderful Blogtoberfest calender freebie and at first I thought that I would probably only end up using it for a couple of days possibly a week but now I'm 18 days in and it has been so helpful. I don't have to stress every day, it's already planned. It's been so helpful that I'm going to do this every month. There are a number of people that offer free downloadable calendars every month including 74 Lime Lane, if you are looking for one.

This got me thinking about the crazy season that is coming upon us. Last year we fumbled our way through with some success and somethings just went down the drain, Including blog posts towards the end (oops). Today while reading lots of different blogs about blogging I some how stumbled across Handmade Success and a Holiday Planner that Jordan from Handmade Success offers for free. It's a great planner for this crazy Holiday season that is coming for anyone who runs an online handmade business. If this planner is anything to go by Jordan's Etsy Kit's should be great.

So I hope that this Holidays season is a bit more organized than last year, as well as the blog going forward.

Have you found anything that has really helped you?

Handmade Christmas Pledge Update - Cushions on Madeit - Blogtoberfest Day 17

So this week I actually got around to buying a couple of Christmas presents. I picked up the calendar below from Sissy Sparrows for myself. I just couldn't resist, it's so cute. I also ordered some beautiful soap from Lovely Cosmetics for someone special or even myself, I haven't decided yet.

So this week I thought that I would bring you all some beautiful cushions from Madeit. As some of you might know we have a day bed in our lounge room so some great new cushions will be on my wish list this Christmas.

I love the floral fabric and the hearts of this cushion.

What beautiful roses.

What a great idea, I love this cushion.

I love this cushion from Tractor Girl, the stitching is amazing.
