Christmas 2009 Pledge

Every year I like to either make or buy some handmade presents for Christmas but this year will be different. This year in the spirit of karma, or what goes around comes around we are making a pledge that all presents to family and friends and 75% of presents for my son (it wouldn't be Christmas for him without getting his favourite books) will be handmade. We will also be buying handmade cards, and wrapping paper.

To start off this pledge I found a wonderful pattern for crochet cupcake pillows by djonesgirlz http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5096274 that will be perfect for my cousin once i make it up.
I would like to hope that other Artist would also like to make this pledge this year.

Birthday Time

My birthday has been a nice one. I decided to have a sleep in this morning instead of having a pancake breakfast (more like my alarm didn't go off).

Went to an appointment then headed off for lunch with my Gran at Sizzler. On the way to lunch I found out some really great news, Lincraft is opening up at Toombul (a local shopping centre). No more long trips to get supplies, cant wait.

I also had a really nice surprise this afternoon from my brother Uri. Uri is living in Canada, so its not very often that we hear from him but to my surprise I got an E-Card from him.

I also got Birthday wishes from My Nana and Pop in NZ and Great Auntie Gwen from England.

Thanks to everyone for your wishes today.

Crochet Cushions

Inspired by the Daybed that we will be buying shortly I wanted to try out making cushions. I am very happy with the results. My Slate Blue cushion with the star pattern in it has turned out wonderful, it took a long time to make but I feel it was worth it (Think I might have to make myself one of these). Find all of these cushions at ImaginationInFlight.etsy.com , look out for a Chunky Green 45cm square cushion and a Multi Purple Squares 41cm square cushion coming soon.
